Counselling
Confidential support and advice
Southampton Solent University offers a free counselling service that may be of help to you if you’re experiencing any difficulty or distress.
The counselling team are here to chat with you and support you in concerns; whether they relate to your personal life, your friends, your family, your partner, your work, or your studies.
The range of issues students talk to us about is vast, and we will happily see any student who feels that their concern is troubling or distressing them.
In counselling, you can talk through your difficulties and concerns with someone who is trained to listen, and may be able to help you resolve problems in a way that is right for you. Students who have come for a number of sessions have said that counselling has given them a deeper understanding of themselves and left them feeling more positive.
This service is free to all students at the University and your attendance and what you talk about with your counsellor remain completely confidential.
On our pages in the student portal you will find links to other counselling and support helplines and organisations. You can also link to or download a range of leaflets on relevant topics and issues.
