Mental Health

'Mental Health' can mean different things to different people.  Typically,  it can be seen as a state of well-being in which we realise our own abilities,  can cope with the normal stresses of life,  can work productively and fruitfully, and are able to make a contribution to our community.

Being mentally healthy is not always easy and it is no wonder that every year, one in four British adults experience at least one diagnosable mental health problem, and one in six experiences this at any given time (Office for National Statistics Psychiatric Morbidity report, 2001).

University life can bring lots of great experiences and opportunities but it can also be tough.  We want to make sure your time at uni is as positive as possible and so we have services in place to help.
